Located in Berlin\u2019s historic and present-day centre, the ruins are considered an outstanding example of medieval architecture. Since 2016, artists and curators have been invited each year to bring the Klosterruine into the present and open up new perspectives on this historic site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tag-des-offenen-denkmals.de\/\">Open Monument Day<\/a> has been held throughout Germany since 1993 as part of the European Heritage Days. Every year on the second Sunday in September \u2013 and in Berlin also on the preceding Saturday \u2013 owners and custodians of historic monuments, together with volunteers committed to heritage preservation, open the doors to architectural monuments, archaeological sites and historic gardens that are otherwise not generally accessible to the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Open Monument Day is Germany\u2019s largest and most popular event dedicated to cultural heritage and monument preservation. In Berlin, visitors can usually choose from almost 1,000 events and activities across all districts, most of them free of charge. This makes the heritage weekend Berlin\u2019s largest collectively organised cultural project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This year, Open Monument Day takes place in Berlin on <strong>September 12 and 13, 2026<\/strong>, under the theme <strong>\u201cNetzWERKE: Denkmale &amp; Infrastruktur\u201d (\u201cNetWORKS: Monuments &amp; Infrastructure\u201d)<\/strong>.
