Art, culture and history are important components of public space and social and urban development. In close cooperation with the Expert Commission for Art in Public Space and Architectural Art, we discuss cross-sectional issues concerning art in public space and public construction measures as well as the maintenance and preservation of existing cultural assets. The tasks of the Department of City Culture relate to the promotion and support of the public cultural landscape in Mitte. We initiate central networking projects and offer advice to applicants on art projects in public space. Our areas of activity include art in public space, art in construction and the inclusion of culture in public space in the Mitte district.
