The District Culture Fund of Berlin Mitte is awarded once a year and supports projects in all disciplines, including in the visual arts, theatre, dance, music, literature, media and architecture as well as contemporary history and remembrance culture projects.

The District Culture Fund

The District Culture Fund (Bezirkskulturfonds/BKF) supports above all projects with a supra-regional and innovative impact with up to 10,000 euros. The fund welcomes artistic and cultural as well as regional and historical projects, and supports cross-disciplinary and interdisciplinary projects presented in Berlin Mitte. Projects are expected to be focused on the further development of artistic forms of expression, the region’s history or on creating links between local cultural institutions. Please note that no cultural education projects are supported by the District Culture Fund (BKF). Subsidies are granted subject to the fulfilment of the budgetary requirements and on the basis of a recommendation from the jury. The jury is made up of representatives from different artistic disciplines and representatives from the Department of Art, Culture and History.
