As part of the Open Monument Day, we invite you to join a historical guided tour with Alice Lorenzon through the historic site in Köllnischer Park.

The Bärenzwinger, which opened in 1939 with Berlin’s city bears, was home to several generations of these symbolic animals for almost 80 years. Until the death of Schnute, the last bear, in 2015, the bears were a distinctive part of Berlin’s cityscape.

Today, the Bärenzwinger is a listed cultural monument and provides a space for exhibitions and events. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn more about the site’s eventful history and its current use as an exhibition venue for contemporary art.
