The artist duo Plastique Fantastique invites you to a summer weekend of love on August 30 and 31 on the town hall square in Wedding. In a large-scale interactive installation, visitors can explore the culture of relationships in our city at various different stations.
The event kicks off on Saturday at 2 p.m. with a welcome address by District Mayor Stefanie Remlinger. The Standesamt e. V. brass band will set the mood for what is to follow. Between 2 and 9 p.m., visitors can marvel at and experience the sculptural installations. A participatory program invites visitors to get involved in the project. In the walk-in installation DOUBLE HEART, strangers can listen to the heartbeats of their counterparts. The Ringmanufaktur offers the opportunity to design wedding rings together – in preparation for a spontaneous wedding ceremony in the former BVV hall. There, new connections will be made as part of a pop-up wedding. Because love is sometimes also an administrative act – but here it is a fast-track procedure.
Designed by renowned architect Fritz Bornemann, the pavilion will be framed by a monumental golden ring, the RINGdeLUXE, for two days, providing the backdrop for a photo shoot of the newlyweds. After dark, the window front of the former BVV hall will be transformed into a cinema screen, and anyone who wants to can give free rein to their emotions at the wedding disco and divorce dance.
