Galerie Nord
Galerie Nord is a unique model project in Moabit. The cultural institution has been a part of the department for years. Its focus is on the presentation and mediation of contemporary art that is innovative, critical and socially relevant. Galerie Nord presents thematic and group exhibitions on current social and cultural processes in juxtaposition with contemporary art.

The Department of Art, Culture and History is constantly searching for and testing new models for how the district’s art venues can be used, maintained and developed in order to reach as broad, diverse and local an audience as possible. A new chapter is now beginning for Galerie Nord – based on a forward-looking concept that remains firmly anchored in the Moabit neighbourhood. From 2026, parallelgesellschaft e.V. will take over the exhibition operations of part of Galerie Nord’s exhibition space.
As part of the spatial reorganisation, a new municipal exhibition venue, ‘Galerie Nord | Studio’ (AT), is also being created.
