Open Call: Artist Residencies “AiR Leopoldplatz 2025”

The Department of Art, Culture and History is awarding project funding totalling €25,000 as part of the district’s cultural revitalisation measure for Leopoldplatz. The measure pursues a participatory approach to create a place for encounters, cultural exchange and co-operative interaction.

Object of the funding

Funding is available for projects by individuals or groups that deal artistically with the situation on and around Leopoldplatz. To this end, the funding recipients should spend time on Leopoldplatz. The results of the artistic exploration should then be presented to the public. Both artistic mediation projects with an event character – such as socio-cultural workshops, readings, concerts or other performances – as well as site-specific artistic interventions are conceivable.

Participatory projects from all artistic disciplines are encouraged to apply. The projects should be developed explicitly for the situation at Leopoldplatz and realised there in a low-threshold manner.

The application should set out what precautions are being taken to enable a sensitive and anti-discriminatory exchange with vulnerable groups.

In case of funding, the Department of Art, Culture and History will be happy to assist in arranging contacts with local cultural institutions in the district as required and possible.
