For more than 30 years, the galerie weisser elefant on Auguststraße has been offering young artists in particular the opportunity to showcase their works to a broad public. Located in the middle of the city’s most important gallery district, artists have been offered this opportunity without being obliged to make their works commercially feasible.

Over the years, the galerie weisser elefant has increasingly made a name for itself in the disciplines of installation, photography and video. Drawings and paintings, usually of a non-representational or symbolic nature, are also exhibited. The gallery realises solo exhibitions, related to the space itself, as well as group exhibitions thematising philosophical topics. To match the expansive installations, the gallery organises electro- and minimal music concerts.
